Alun achieved an honours degree in Building Engineering at Bath University and became a full member of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 1985.  With over 30 years in the construction industry, both on site and in consulting engineers offices, he has gained comprehensive experience in all forms of civil and structural engineering with both private and public bodies. 

After running the head office of a Bristol consultants as associate partner, Alun then took on the challenge of opening a branch office in Exeter.  In 1991 he established Sands with Peter Jackson.  This practice has grown in strength and reputation over its 16 years history. The promotion and marketing of the company is Alun’s responsibility. He also oversees civil engineering projects, ensuring that close working relationships are maintained with clients and that the service provided is practical, courteous and carried out within time scales required.

Alun’s aims for the practice are for it to carry on expanding, whilst maintaining the high standard of service and good reputation on which the company thrives.
