Safestore Unit, Filton, Bristol

The steel frame for this storage warehouse creates 18000 square feet of uninterrupted floor space (imagine the scene at the end of Indiana Jones where the lost ark is kept and you wont be far off!).  Its’ curved roof was created using segmented beams with extended purlin cleats, and a bull-nose eaves detail was incorporated seamlessly into the design.  Sands integrated connection design service dealt with the apex and haunches of the main frame, and a firewall cladding restraint system was built into the column connections.
