Hotel Barcelona, Exeter
This imposing brick building was constructed in the 1800’s as an Eye Infirmary. Our job was to convert it into a hotel fit for the 21st Century, with a bit of fifties style thrown in for good measure. As well as significant internal alterations, a brand new restaurant extension was added complete with a curved roof fashioned to complement the large oak visible through the glazed elevation. Despite some likening the grey painted window frames to a prison, it’s fast gained a reputation as Exeter’s hotel of choice.
