Upottery Primary School
Increasing student numbers and temporary buildings reaching the end of their useful life led to the need for additional classrooms at this village school. The new structure was required to match the aesthetics of the existing stone building in this conservation zone. Two classrooms and a new hall, plus associated kitchens and amenity areas were formed in traditional timber frame. Curved glue laminated beams were specified over the hall to carry the roof structure. Sands also provided foundation and drainage design. Completion of the building is in 2009.
