Urban Search And Rescue (USAR) Exeter
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service commissioned Sands to undertake the design of the only USAR facility in the region. The facility is located within the grounds of the services headquarters in Clyst St George, Exeter and not only serves as a fully equipped operational base but also provides a purpose built training facility. The design works included the concrete access way and parking area for 12 USAR pods and vehicles and surface and foul water drainage system design including a packaged pumping station serving the accommodation and training buildings.
