Sands Civil and Structural Chartered Engineers has three departments, each providing multiple services.
• The Structural Engineering Department undertakes design of concrete, steel, masonry and timber structures as its core service. In addition the department undertakes feasibilities of projects, advice on existing structures and structural reports.
• The Infrastructure Department specialises in roads and drainage design. Within these areas the team is able to carry out cut and fill quantities, flood risk assessments, pump station designs, feasibilities etc.
• The third department cover specialist timber frame design and structural fabrication detailing for flats, high density housing and one-off luxury dwellings. This team also undertakes structural steelwork detailing and fabrication drawings.
These departments overlap to enable a complete design and detailing service to be provided. This can be especially valuable when considering large involved project and design and build contracts.
With a wide range of experience within these teams, the practice is now able to undertake environmental impact assessment work, preliminary site assessments with regard to geology and ground conditions plus overall project management.
